ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, on Saturday linked the current state of affairs in Pakistan to the nomination of the chief of army staff, calling it “unfortunate” that all of the nation was centred around a single appointment.
The former prime minister suggested that the army leader be chosen based on merit during a chat with social media influencers in the nation’s capital.
The PTI head stated, “A drama begins on the choice of army commander, which does not occur in any part of the world.
He added that “if the military would bring together the country, Pakistan would not be divided” in 1971 to his earlier statement that the army cannot unify a nation on its own.He went on to warn that the PTI cannot be forced to accept the current “mafia administration” by the “neutrals.”
Khan stated that he will not speak with corrupt individuals while rejecting negotiation with the coalition administration. He said, “To sit and converse with crooked individuals is to accept their corruption.”
He asserted that the PTI represents the only national party in the nation at the moment and that he would not make any decisions that were not in the best interests of the nation.
The former premier stated that he will hand out the tickets for the upcoming elections himself, reiterating that honest elections are the best way to stabilise the situation.
In order to depose Hamza Shahbaz as chief minister, we restored the Punjab government, stated Khan.
