US offers assistance for OPF teachers and vocational training

ISLAMABAD (INP): US Assistant Cultural Attache’, Ms Kristina Hayden called on Managing Director, Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, Habib ur Rehman Khan here on Friday and offered free of cost US assistance in capacity building of teachers and vocational training in Pakistan or in USA. She was accompanied by Sharif Sabir, Exchange Program Specialist.

 MD, OPF, Habib ur Rehman Khan briefed the delegation about various projects of OPF especially about the goals and objectives of OPF educational system. The MD informed that at the moment about 17000 students get quality education from 25 OPF educational institutions throughout the country.

 Ms. Hayden told MD, OPF that about 1500 Pakistanis get training through US training program every year. She further said that about 300 Pakistani students got training in the field of Home Economics especially in cooking. She also offered training in Home Economics classes for students of OPF educational institutions and expressed her desire to visit some of OPF educational institutions to get more information about them and to launch a successful training program to facilitate the children of overseas Pakistanis and general public with the assistance of OPF.
