ISLMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader and leader of the opposition in National Assembly (NA) Syed Khurshid said that if the opposition parties show unity in the upcoming Senate polls they could have chairman of their choice in the Upper House.

In an informal interaction with media at his chamber in the Parliament House on Wednesday, Khurshid Shah said that Senate election should be transparent for supremacy of democracy in the country.

Commenting over the PTI chief Imran Khan’s claims of Rs150 million offer in return of the Senate ticket, the opposition leader said that he was surprised that how could one who made such offer could be fair person.

He criticized Imran saying that PTI chairman could not control his party members and instead was busy in taunting and leveling allegations against other.

Khurshid Shah said that sitting Prime Minister (PM) Mian Nawaz Sharif and his party was benefited by and large owing to the politics of reconciliation of PPP. Therefore, the ruling party should also give chairman Senate’s position to the opposition parties, he added.
