The problem of unemployment in Pakistan is a serious challenge affecting the youth population of the country. This problem not only affects their lives but also has a profound impact on the country’s economy and social stability.
The majority of Pakistan’s population consists of youth, and a large number of them are unemployed due to lack of employment opportunities. The main reasons for this include lack of education and skills, economic problems, political instability, and population pressure. Fundamental problems in the education system in particular have shown a failure to equip youth with marketable skills. Our education system is just giving degrees to the youth, it is not preparing the youth according to the needs of the society. Due to which, when the young people enter the practical life after obtaining degrees, they have to face many problems.
Unemployment is not only an economic problem, but also results in youth mental health problems, poverty, and social problems. Due to desperation and financial difficulties, a large number of youths are turning to drugs, making their lives worse. Also, unemployment makes it difficult for the youth to turn their dreams into reality, and this affects their self-esteem. This situation is not only a threat to their lives but is also becoming a major obstacle for the development of the country.
Many young people think of going abroad to get better opportunities. Although it provides an opportunity for better employment to the youth, it also comes with several disadvantages. Distance, cultural challenges, and risks of failure can affect the lives of these young people. Many people are also forced to go abroad to work for low wages, which can worsen their financial situation. This journey is not only a challenge but can also bring a big change in their lives, which may not be right for them. It is not easy to go to foreign countries, it also costs a lot of money, then they are often not treated well in these countries, due to which these young people suffer from various mental problems and many of them die. They save their money and go to foreign countries, but if they are unable to face the conditions there, they come back with patience. Now double problems arise for them.
Finding a solution to the problem of unemployment should be the top priority of the government. For this, reforms in the education system are necessary so that the youth can be provided with skills according to the needs of the market. Creation of job opportunities and promotion of skill training programs are also very important. The government should encourage local business development and support small and medium enterprises to create more employment opportunities.
Attention should also be paid to the mental health issues of the youth. The government needs to introduce programs that help the youth and provide effective solutions to their problems. When young people are supported to face their problems, they will be able to live more positively. Also, the government should educate the youth about job opportunities abroad so that they can better make important decisions in their lives.
Although the problem of unemployment is a complex challenge, effective solution is possible if the government, educational institutions, and society work together. It is important that we value the dreams and hopes of the youth and give them opportunities to move towards a better future. Without it, the energy of the young generation of Pakistan will be wasted, which will be a big loss for the development of the country. It is our duty to provide the right path to the youth to realize their dreams, so that they can play an important role not only for themselves but also for the development of the country.
