PESHAWAR: At least seven people including three Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel were killed and dozens other injured in two separate suicide attacks which took place in Mohmand Agency and Peshawar on Wednesday.
According to details, two people were killed and several others injured in an explosion after an unknown militant riding a motorbike blew himself up close to a government vehicle near Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) building in Hayatabat’s Phase 5.
The police and rescue teams immediately arrived at the scene. Windows of several houses and a Hiace van was damaged in the incident. The injured persons were immediately shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex. It should be noted here that Hayatabad is among the areas of the city that were designated sensitive over possible terror attacks.
Earlier in the day, at least five people including three personnel of Frontier Constabulary (FC) were martyred and three others were injured in a suicide attack at residential colony in Ghalanai Tehsil, the headquarters of Mohmand Agency.
One suicide bomber blew himself up outside the office of local political administration when security officials tried to stop him. Another attacker was shot in an exchange of fire with Levies personnel. The bodies and injured persons were shifted to Agency Headquarters Hospital in Ghalanai.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that a major terror bid was foiled in the Mohmand tribal region near the Afghan border. Security agencies had the intelligence about intrusion of suicide bombers from Afghanistan inside Mohmand Agency, ISPR stated. NNI
