KARACHI: At least 20 people, including two members of Sindh Assembly, were wounded on Friday in a cracker blast near an MQM’s camp in Karachi, officials said.
The camp was set up in Orangi Town as part of MQM’s membership drive. According to police, unidentified gunmen first threw a hand grenade on the camp and then opened firing before fleeing. The injured MPAs have been identified as Muhammad Hussain and Sheikh Abdullah. Agencies
Paramilitary rangers personnel reached the scene and cordoned off the area. Irfan Baloch, a senior police officer, said Muhammad Hussain has suffered minor wounds.
MQM leader Wasay Jalil said that Muhammad Abdullah was out of danger.
He confirmed that MQM’s camp was targeted by the attackers.
