Two militants killed in Mastung operation, key commander of TTP arrested in Quetta

QUETTA: Two suspected militants were killed in an operation launched in Mastung area late on Tuesday night.

Police officials on Wednesday said that law enforcement agencies launched a joint operation in Mastung area following the information about presence of alleged militants in the area.

‘An exchange of fire took place between the law enforcement personnel and the armed men, resulting in killing of two militants,” police claimed.

The bodies of the suspects were shifted to hospital morgue for identification.

Meanwhile, Intelligence agencies while conducting operation in Kachlak  area of Quetta on Wednesday arrested a key commander of banned Tehreek-e-TalibanPakistan (TTP).

According to details, the TTP leader was detained during a raid in a house and belonged to Tariq Geedar group. He is said to be involved in attack on airport and Army Public School Peshawar whereas the suspect has also confessed to sectarian killings.

The suspect was shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation.
