KARACHI: Two robbers were killed in exchange of fire with police while bodies of two others were recovered in different areas of Metropolis on Thursday. CPLC and AVCC rescued an abducted citizen. Four buses gutted in fire incident.
The police on a tip-off regarding presence of criminals launched crackdown in Sohrab Goth area of Karachi. An exchange of fire took place during the raid in which two robbers were killed.
Unknown miscreants gunned down two persons aged between 20 to 30 years in Allahwal Town near Korangi crossing and escaped the scene. The deceased seemed to be Afghan nationals and their bodies were shifted to Jinnah Hospital where their finger prints and blood samples were collected for identification.
The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) during a joint raid rescued an abducted citizen.
Four bused parked at bus terminal in Labour Square area of Landhi were gutted due to fire caused by short circuit. Five fire tenders rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire. No human loss or injury was reported in the incident.
DSP Quaidabad Rao Iqbal said that due to short circuit fire erupted in a bus, causing bursting of CNG cylinder installed in the bus, due to which fire engulfed the vehicles parked in the surroundings and it was accidental fire and no signs of terror bid have been found.
