TTP commander killed in Tirah blast; Two killed in attack on NATO

PESHAWAR, Aug 25 (INP): A commander of the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP) was killed and two others were injured in a remote-controlled Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in the Tirah valley of Khyber Agency.

Official sources said the blast that took place in the Mehrban Kalley area of Tirah killed the TTP commander who was popularly known as Khabare. Sources said the TTP commander was the target. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Two killed in firing on NATO oil tanker in Khyber Agency

Meanwhile, driver and cleaner were killed when militants attacked a NATO oil tanker here on Monday.

Khasadar Force sources said that unknown miscreants ambushed an oil tanker carrying

fuel for NATO forces in Afghanistan in Wazir Dand area of tehsil Jamrud in Khyber Agency.

Thousands of litres of oil was spoiled as the tanker was destroyed in the firing.

 

The security forces cordoned of the area after the attack and launched search operation.
