Truck carrying huge cache of arms from Balochistan to Sindh seized

KARACHI, Sep 25 (INP): Karachi police chief Thursday stated that ongoing targeted operation is being carried out only against criminals in the metropolis.

Addressing a press conference here Thursday, Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Sindh Ghulam Qadri Thebo urged MQM to stage sit-in at a place where roads would not block for traffic.  He appealed MQM to end its sit-in from Star Gate area as he added that people visiting airport are facing blockade of roads.

The AIG said that the rangers confirmed to have arrested 15 people during their raid on Abul Hassan Ispahani Road last night.

Thebo said one accused has been arrested in connection with assassination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zahra Shahid.

Police also made a breakthrough in Dr Shakeel Auj murder case, he said.

Thebo said that terrorist want to carry out a terrorist activity, adding that a truck carrying huge cache of arms and drugs moving from Balochistan province to Sindh was seized.

The Karachi police chief also stressed upon the need to install scanners in all entry and exit routes of the city.
