BADIN: Badin Traders’ Association staged a shutterdown strike against failure of police to arrest Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Zulfiqar Mirza on Thursday.
According to reports, the call of strike was also given by the PPP. The shops remained closed, business came to a standstill as the traffic was almost completely missing from the roads. Also, reports of aerial firing were received intermittently.
As many as 12 cases have been registered against Dr Zulfiqar Mirza and accomplices as per the AntiTerrorism Act.
Meanwhile, Judge Abdul Ghafoor of the Antiterrorism court in Badin declined to hear case against Zulfiqar Mirza. The case has been forwarded to Sindh High Court.
INP
