ISLAMABAD (NNI): Khalid Chaudhry, Secretary Information, Traders Action Committee, Islamabad has called upon the government to give tax concessions to the local business community and extend the last date for filing of income tax returns to facilitate the entrepreneurs. He said this while addressing a meeting of representatives of various market associations.
He said businesses in Islamabad are badly suffering since 25th July 2014 and the business activities remained quite slow during the month of Ramadan while the sit-ins in Islamabad have further compounded the problems for traders.
He appealed to the Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar to direct FBR for announcing a special package of tax concessions for the business community of Islamabad.
Khalid Chaudhry said for the last two months, business activities have come to a halt and cost of doing business has increased manifold while the IESCO has sent inflated bills to traders due to which it has become very difficult to pay the electricity bills. He also appealed to the landlords to give relief to traders by not taking the rent of August or September 2014.
He said September 30, 2014 is the last date for filing of income tax returns and due to multiple problems; traders are not able to file tax returns on time. He called upon the FBR to extend last date for filing of tax returns to facilitate the businessmen.
