ISLAMABAD: A meeting between US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was held in Islamabad on Tuesday evening.
During the meeting they discussed matters of bilateral interest; cooperation in different sectors and regional situation.
At the outset of the meeting, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan is committed for the eradication of terrorism from the country. He said Pakistan is looking forward to enhance security and economic relations with the United States.
US Secretary of the State said that Pakistan is important country of the region. He said the bilateral cooperation in security between the two countries should be enhanced. He said bilateral relations between the two countries are of immense importance for peace in the region.
Earlier on the arrival of the US Secretary of State, Minister for Foreign Affairs Khawaja Muhammad Asif welcomed him.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, DG-ISI, secretary to PM, foreign secretary and other officials are also present in the meeting. NNI
