FAISALABAD: The Counter Terrorism Department foiled a major terror bid in Faisalabad as security officials shot dead three terrorists of proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) near Sandil Bar area in Faisalabad, while two others managed to escape arrest during a search operation carried out on Saturday night
According to CTD spokesman, at least five militants of TTP were making their way to Faisalabad from Sandil Bar area, where counterterrorism officials stopped them on intelligence information.
Following the arrival of CTD officers, the terrorists opened fire at the personnel and an exchange of gunfire ensued, in which three terrorists were killed. However, two managed to flee the area.
Weapons, explosives, detonators and motorcycles were seized from the possession of the terrorists, the spokesman added. INP
