ISLAMABAD: Three suspects involved in the suicide attack which claimed the life of Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzda were arrested from a madrassa in Islamabad on Friday.
Qari Imdad, Qari Irshad and Shoukat residents of Dhoke Chaudhrian were arrested during a joint operation carried out by the Counter Terrorism Department Punjab and Rangers from Madrassa located at F/8 near Faisal Mosque.
The detainees have been shifted to an unknown location for interrogation.
On August 19, intelligence agencies arrested two suspected militants from Faisalabad in connection with the attack.
According to initial findings most wanted terrorist Matiur Rehman is also likely to be involved in the attack. Rehman is wanted for the attempted assassination of former military ruler Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf in 2003.
He was also wanted for attacks on former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and the suicide bombing on Sheraton Hotel in Karachi.
