MUZAFFARABAD: Three political workers were killed and 15 others wounded in a clash between the workers of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) in Azad Kashmir.
According to police, an exchange of fire took place between the workers of the two parties during an election campaign at Azad Kashmir’s Forward Kahuta village late on Saturday. PML-N electoral candidate named Chaudhry Aziz was amongst the injured.
Several shops and an ambulance were torched following the group clash. One person died on Saturday while two others succumbed to injuries on Sunday morning.
A spokesperson of Azad Kashmir government stated that heavy contingent of law enforcement agencies were called to control the situation.
Police filed a case against 12 persons including a PPP minister named Faisal Rathore. However, no arrests have taken place.
