ISLAMABAD: Three days Policy Conference on ‘Action for Adaptation: Bringing climate change science to policy makers’ began in Islamabad today.
More than one hundred researchers, policy makers, journalists, students, and practitioners working on issues related to climate change and adaptation in theIndus River Basin are participating in the Policy Conference.
The three-day conference will focus on sharing knowledge and research about the impacts of climate change in the Indus River Basin. Experts will discuss possible policy and action to protect livelihoods and support communities in adapting to these changes.
They will also discuss opportunities and challenges for translating knowledge into effective policy and action for adaptation in Pakistan.
The conference has been jointly organized by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, thePakistan
Agricultural Research Council, the Ministry of Climate Change, WWF Pakistan, and the Sustainable Development Policy Institute.
