BUREWALA: Three dacoits were killed in an alleged police encounter at Multan road on Thursday.
Police said three robbers were killed in exchange of fire while a police personnel sustained injuries.
According to details, the encounter took place when the dacoits were fleeing after a daredevil robbery and police challenged them.
Dacoits in Punjab are on the rise as groups of criminals find it easy to loot people at gunpoint. They consider it as an easy source of earnings and then hide in their hideouts in deserted and mountainous areas.
Even if arrested, they either get bail or minor sentences and on release they again resume their activities.
