ISLAMABAD: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad police has busted three gangs of dacoits and car snatchers besides recovering gold ornaments, motorbikes, car and weapons from their possession.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, SSP Islamabad Mir Vais Niaz said that IGP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan assigned special task to SP (Investigation) Syed Muhammad Bilal to trace those involved in auto-theft incidents in the city. Following his directions, a special team headed by DSP CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon including ASIs Suleman Shah, Tipu Sultan, Ameer Sajjad, Saleem Raza and others was constituted.
He said this team accelerated efforts to curb criminal activities and nabbed 12 gangsters besides recovering gold ornaments, two Honda bikes, electronic equipment, 15 mobiles phones, dagger, a corolla car and spare parts of snatched vehicles.
The gangsters have been identified as Malik Waqas, Arslan Qammer, Muhammad Raees, Umier Ali, Zulfqar Ali, Waqas Shakir, Noman Mansoor, Shahad Zaman, Bilal Ahmed, Waqas, Muhammad Arshad and Nazakat Hussain.
The SSP told the media that accused Arshad and Nazakat Hussain were also involved in snatching a cab (M-6802) near Dhoke Kala Khan after hiring it and dacoity attempts on it near Islamabad club after changing its number plate. They snatched Suzuki Cultus
(RLD-2666) and mobile phone from Farukh Abbass s/o Muhammad Abbass resident of Street #19, Rawal town Islamabad while attempted to snatch another car from Tauseq Daniyal through firing. Secretariat police has also registered a case against them for snatching cash and valuables from Nur Aftab.
The nabbed gangsters have confessed to commit dacoities in various areas of Hassan Abdal, Rawalpinid and Islamabad. Further investigation is underway from them and CIA police is hopeful for more recovery from them.
SSP Islamabad also appreciated this performance of CIA police team and announced commendation certificates and cash prizes for members of police team.
