LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Sunday said that all national institutions are working within the ambit of the Constitution.
Chairing a high-level meeting at his residence in Jati Umra Lahore, the Prime Minister said, “There should not be any conflict between the national institutions.”
Overall political situation prevailing in the country and other important matters came under discussion. The PM said, “All the national institutions should work for the progress and prosperity of the country.”
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and other senior officials attended the meeting.
The meeting had been called in view of a tweet by Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Asif Ghafoor that rejected the ‘notification’ issued from PM House regarding the implementation of the recommendations laid out in ‘Dawn Leaks’ report by the investigation committee.
According to sources, the senior leadership of the ruling party discussed the options available now in the situation, including issuance of a new notification and the implementation of the remaining recommendations of the committee. NNI
