It is very famous idiomatic phrase that “He is jack of all trade but master of none” but now the things have turned into vice versa. The reality seems different. Politics is the biggest world and a technical game. The system of Pakistan politics is a different ball game, of a different views. To understand the Pakistan’s politics, we should have a technical mind set of common man. It can be of a political reader a true reader of mind of a common man or readers of the nation. Psyche of our people is very attentive towards it “Visible is Saleable”. PMLN knows such technicality to rule over the Pakistan. It does not need any Socratic philosophy to rule in Pakistan. PMLN has a lot to win over the hearts of people in forth coming general elections. In other words they have a lot to sale in the next election campaign. This is as follow:
- Better Law & Order situation.
- Sufficient control over load-shedding.
- New power projects underway.
- Construction of new state of the art hospitals in some districts.
- A network of Danish Schools and other educational institutions.
- Laptop & scholarship schemes for students.
- Orange-Line Train Project.
- Metro Projects of Lahore, Rawalpindi & Multan.
- A better economic situation
- Strong stand “no more” against America’s “do more” demand on some factual issues.
- Existing of CPEC, etc.
The plan of China Corridor is talk of the town for the progress of the country. It will bring a very fruitful results in future for the betterment of our country and so any people have written in the favor of it, so I will not dip into its depth, at this time. PMLN has a futuristic approach to enlighten the preview of our youth and its common man.
Contrary to these facts, PTI seems a far from such manifesto. There are many more commitments at the part of PTI. PTI seems full of noisy slogans but a pragmatic approach is another thing. Plans of PTI are of HR Development. There are public reforms in various sectors such as health, education, policing, estate services, accountability etc. they controlled timber mafia and encroachments in cities. They emphasized on skills development. All these reforms and developments are based on long-term-stability and development but do not fulfill the formulae to win the election i.e. “visible is saleable”. All these development attracts and understandable by a very small portion of society who are educated and have political vision. In other words their politics based on urban community or you can say their target market is Urban voters and obviously they less in numbers as compare to rural voters which are the target market of PMLN.
On the other side PPP is limping forward towards the mega projects but those are not upto the mark and are undone. Opposition Leader, Syed Khurshid Shah has said that the reason of their decline and deterioration is their policy of reconciliation and friendly opposition. It is a fact that PPP is now at No Third party in ranking in the inland political scenario.
If we analyze it as such statistical facts, we come to know that the forthcoming general election can win some more seats from the platform of PMLN if it may free from interference of any invisible forces. Some are of the opinion that cases of Panama issues can derail the popularity of PMLN. But my points of view is different that most of our community/population lives is rural areas who is not much aware of the such political situation because of absence of cable/satellite TV. The only TV is watched, generally, in such areas is PTV which presents Government’s narrative only. PMLN’s majority of voters are from these rural areas. So Panama Issue will not effect the vote bank of PMLN at large scale.
Having sight is another thing and vision is another aspect of life. People use sights but do not see the realities with a vision. Parameters for the judgment of vision are entirely different. If we see ground realities with a powerful vision then things will seem different and real. It is necessary to enhance our vision to visualize the things in its true colors.
It is very easy to criticize on every existing fact. Pragmatic approach is a visionary approach in real practices. Pseudo critics attack with their sweeping statements. Let me say they are living in a fool’s paradise.
*In PART-II of this article a complete data analysis will be given in the light of previous general and by-elections statistics to forecast the results of forthcoming general elections.
