ISLAMABAD: Prof Dr Shahid Hussain Sheikh has introduced his amazing discovery by finding a breakthrough treatment of various diseases including Neurological disorder, stroke, Hypertension and diabetes which he believes is just a tip of the iceberg. The Syndrome X, which had been the missing link between diseases and their treatment, has been found.
Prof. Dr. Shahid A. Sheikh spent around 25 years in America researching the cure of various diseases. While talking to the scribe he said in the treatment of many diseases, generally even after the treatment a virus remains back, which bring the disease again. He said that he said defined a new syndrome “Sheikh’s Syndrome” that has emerged as a primary cause of the multiple diseases based in the central nervous system. He said that the first and foremost step is to diagnose the disease then it will be easy to tackle it. He said that every disease has a cure, but there is need to find the root cause of the disease, proper diagnosing is the key in order to find cure.
He said the brain remains the biggest mystery for doctors and scientists all over the world and not much work has been done on Neuro-viral pathology. According to Dr Hussain, etiology of all diseases is hidden virus in the brain. He said that when he was leaving for USA, to study, the life expectancy for a Pakistani was 60 years, now hardly 46. While talking about the medical institutions in Pakistan he said that he believes there is dire need to implement research based studies. He said that Proper research can pave the way for bringing innovative methods to secure people from various dangerous diseases. Unfortunately in Pakistan, policy makers are still unable to understand the pivotal importance of research work in order to bring revolutionary developments in the healthcare sector. He added ‘Research oriented institutions, is the only option to bring revolutionary changes in the field of medical’. He said that it is alarming situation in the country that mortality rate is on the rise, average age has been reduced significantly, young people have become patient of various diseases.
He said that when dengue out broke in Punjab, “We treated around 1298 patients in United Christian Hospital in Lahore and by the grace of almighty and with the research based knowledge we were able to secure the lives of all the patients and result was hundred percent.”
Dr Shakil Waqar, a rising medical scientist, while talking to scribe said that in most of the medical colleges and institutions syllabus of 1980’s is being taught because teachers are not updated with latest developments in the field of medical sciences. He said that there is dire need to update syllabus in line with latest research in the field of medical.
Dr. Isaac Asher while talking to scribe said that medical institutions of developed countries are offering the Doctorate of Medicine and of Philosophy (MD–PhD) that is a dual doctoral degree for physician–scientists. But in Pakistan we are not moving forward with rapidly developing world of medical science. ‘A complete overhaul is required in the field of medical to promote culture of research based studies’. He said that in developed countries medicines are made according to the ‘jeans’ of each individual and it sums up all that where we stand in the developed world of medical science.
