Karachi: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of Ramde University at Thagos, Ghanche district in Gilgit-Baltistan. .

In this regard, the foundation stone ceremony was held in Islamabad. Addressing the ceremony, the Prime Minister said that I congratulate Justice (R) Khalilur Rehman Ramde and all his friends from the bottom of my heart on the establishment of Ramde University, all those who cooperated in the establishment of Ramde University. The efforts of institutions and individuals are commendable, today we all have laid the foundation for the bright future of the boys and girls here, the establishment of a higher education institution in a remote area like Ghanche of Gilgit-Baltistan is very welcome.

The Prime Minister said that I am sure that this university, which will be established at an altitude of 11,000 feet at the Tagus, will achieve the highest standards of modern science and research. The role of the private sector in the promotion of education in Pakistan is very important. Students graduating from private educational institutions have made Pakistan famous in every field, the development of Gilgit-Baltistan and the welfare of its people are among the top priorities of the government. 62 affected families have been handed over to their homes.

He said that a 100 MW solar energy project has been launched in Gilgit-Baltistan which will help in meeting the electricity needs of the area. Able and deserving students will be able to benefit and contribute to the development of Pakistan as a constructive member of the society.

In the ceremony, Justice (retd) Khalilur Rahman Ramde said in a briefing regarding Ramde University that Ramde University is being established on an area of ​​200 kanals in the Thagos area of ​​Ghanche district of Gilgit-Baltistan, Ramde University is being built at the highest places in the world. Will be one of the universities, environment and climate change, hydrology, mineralogy and other subjects will be taught in the university.

On this occasion, the students of Asfandyar Wali Ramde School Ghanche presented the National Anthem. Students of Asfandyar Wali School Ghanche participated in the event through video link.
