Aitzaz Ahsan, a founding member of the PPP and a former federal minister, has had his basic membership suspended as a result of his inflammatory remarks. The PPP’s legal whiz and member of the central executive committee (CEC), Aitzaz Ahsan , has been in the news after making some remarks that infuriated the party leadership.
According to the sources, the Executive Committee of PPP Punjab will meet today to review the matter and make suggestions to the secretary general.According to party insiders, “a resolution will be adopted in today’s session against Aitzaz Ahsan remarks, and a show-cause notice will be served on him.”
They added that the decision was made on the direction of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari. The party’s highest leadership distanced itself from the assertion, claiming that it was the speaker’s personal opinion and did not represent party policy.
In relation to Ahsan’s statement, “senior leadership of the PPP have also voiced their significant objections to the top party leadership,” the statement read.Earlier on Wednesday, Rana Farooq Saeed, the interim president of the PPP Punjab, declared that Aitzaz should lose his party membership because he had joined Imran Khan’s plot to undermine the country’s democracy.
He had stated that the PPP leadership should decide whether or not to allow the PPP Punjab members to occupy Khan and Aitzaz’s homes in Zaman Park Lahore in order to disrupt their alliance.
He stated that Aitzaz “aided Imran Khan’s political engineering” by remaining mute while the latter detained Faryal Talpur and President Asif Ali Zardari via the NAB and also brought fabricated charges against PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
