ISLAMABAD: The federal government’s special committee has assured the government employees of implementing their demands including pension reforms, salary hike, and other issues, while a meeting will be convened next week under the chairmanship of Rana Sanaullah regarding leave encashment.
According to Express News, an important meeting of the special committee headed by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Chief Whip of the PML-N, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, was held in Islamabad on Tuesday, in which officers from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Law and Justice, and Establishment Division, as well as Rehman Bajwa, Chief Coordinator of the All Government Employees Grand Alliance (AGEGA), and other officials of the Grand Alliance, participated.
The meeting reviewed the implementation of the written agreement reached between the government and government employees to resolve the demands of government employees.
After the meeting, Rehman Bajwa told Express that Dr. Tariq Fazal has assured that the government is committed to the promise made to government employees, and all legitimate demands of the traders, including the Prime Minister’s relief package and leave-in cash, will be fulfilled.
Rehman Bajwa said that in the meeting, the Finance Ministry officials have assured the implementation of the government’s written agreement with the employees. He said that on the budget day, millions of employees from all over the country will come to Islamabad to monitor the implementation of the agreement. If this agreement is implemented, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Rana Sanaullah will be paid tribute in the same meeting and their names will be written in golden letters. But God forbid, if it is not implemented, then as promised, these people will also join us in the sit-in.
In response to a question, Rehman Bajwa said that in the meeting, the head of the committee, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, also assured that a meeting of the committee under the chairmanship of Rana Sanaullah will be convened next week to resolve the issue of leave-in cash payment of government employees and an attempt will be made to resolve this issue.
In response to a question, he said that regarding the implementation of the agreement reached between the government and government employees, it has been decided in the meeting that the officials of the government and the representative organization of government employees will do their respective working and present it in the committee meeting. In this meeting, after reviewing it in detail, recommendations will be prepared and presented to the government.
