LAHORE, Dec 16 (INP): TEVTA will arrange job opportunities for its pass outs in foreign countries. At present, TEVTA pass outs are mostly getting jobs in the domestic industrial organizations but no proper initiative was ever taken in the past to send trained manpower abroad. To implement this decision, foreign placement center will be established at TEVTA Secretariat.
This was stated by Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Shaikh while addressing the review meeting to place the TEVTA pass-outs. Chief Operating Officer TEVTA Jawad Ahmed Qureshi and other officers were also present on this occasion.
Irfan Qaiser Shaikh said that trained manpower is urgently required in Middle East but our skilled work force could not get job owing to lack of liaison and contact with the concerned foreign agencies. TEVTA will play effective role to cultivate and maintain contact with foreign countries to provide them its trained manpower. In this way, unemployment will be reduced and skilled youth will contribute for the economic development of the country.
Chairperson TEVTA also said that TEVTA will enhance its enrolment upto 0.4 million during next two years. Last year, 98500 students got technical training but only 50 percent could get jobs and remaining pass outs could not be employed because they acquired technical training in obsolete and old courses. To introduce new demand driven courses, TEVTA will consult District Boards of Management, experts of related industry as well as foreign donor agencies. These courses will be of 3 and 6 months duration so that jobless graduates could be turned into skilled manpower in shortest possible time. It will be beneficial for trained force to start their own business or avail employment opportunities in industrial organizations.
