LAHORE: Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Shaikh has said revision/updating the curricula being offered in TEVTA Institutes as per latest and industry requirement are in our priorities. Through Gap analysis study, this exercise is being done in consultation with stakeholders especially taking into account the relevant industry through comprehensive survey by using special Tool/Questionnaire, developed for the purpose.
He was addressing a meeting to review the progress of Academics Department. Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmed Qureshi, General Managers Engr. Azhar Iqbal Shad, Hamid Ghani Anjum, Abdul Qayyum, Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, Director R&D Dr. Iftikhar Hussain and other officers were also present on this occasion.
Irfan Qaiser Shaikh said that TEVTA has recently conducted Gap Analysis Seminar for Revision of Curricula of 3 Years D.A.E. Bio Medical Technology at Govt. Technical Training Institute Gulberg Lahore. A seminar was conducted in which TEVTA invited the relevant Academia and Industry experts to get their inputs. Experts have recommended the changes in this technology which will be incorporated after following the procedure to revise them.
Chairperson TEVTA further said that Research & Development Section has been given the task to conduct this Gap Analysis study. The input of gap analysis would be used by Curriculum Section to revise the courses in the light of feedback received form R&D section, including new skills to be added and deleting the obsolete skills, as suggested by Market/ Industry. By this initiative, students will get technical education as per demand of industry and pass outs will get job opportunities easily.
