FC men among three killed, 25 hurt in deadly blast

QUETTA (INP): The Chief Minister Balochistan ,Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that terrorists involved in the killing of innocent people would be followed and eliminated.

Strongly condemning the blast at Sariab Link road in Quetta on Saturday, he expressed his condolences and sympathies with the families of those killed and injured in the blast. He said the government would continue its campaign against the terrorists till restoration of complete peace in the Province.

Three persons including an FC man were killed while twenty-four others sustained injuries when a blast occurred at Sariab link road on Saturday.

According to police, a blast apparently targeting a vehicle of a paramilitary force occurred at Sariab link road Saturday morning that killed an FC man and two others while 25 persons were also injured.

The blast took place when the FC’s patrolling vehicle was passing through the area.

Rescue teams reached the spot and transferred the dead bodies and injured to the Civil Hospital while the security forces cordoned off the area.

Two other vehicles and a rickshaw were damaged in the explosion while the windows of the nearby shops and buildings were also broken.

Police told that the miscreants had fixed explosives in a car standing along the road and were triggered through a remote control device. According to Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), at least 40kg explosives were used in the remote-controlled bomb to target FC vehicle.

The blast was so powerful that it was heard far and wide.

The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital Quetta for medical treatment. Emergency was imposed in the hospital to treat the wounded.

Militants in recent days have intensified attacks against security forces and national installations in Balochistan.
