The prime minister leaves for China to attend the two day Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, beginning in Beijing on Sunday., along with federal ministers and four Chief ministers, including his arch rival PTI’s KPK CM Mr Khattak ,( albeit a pleasant surprise it was, keeping in view the political rivalry at home ) and the wave of terror hits Deputy Chairman Senate Molana Abdul Ghafoor Hyderi at Mastung and hits so hard that it literally jolts us.

Few days back few Iranian soldiers are killed. Result? Pak Iran relations under stress. This time a top Pakistani leadership is hit. Expected Result? Sectarian approach of analysis will mount and the incident shall be interpreted in terms of Iranian Army Chief’s unwanted and unfortunate diatribe a few days back.

Who is at the receiving end? Pakistan.
The situation is very much alarming. Don’t go for the words of any unknown entity that very soon shall come forward and accept the responsibility of this brutal incident. We must try to focus on the broader aspect of the incident. Who is behind the game is the crunch question and it is more important than the identification of local actors playing this dirty game. Although these local actors must be apprehended and must be punished as per the law yet the actual identification of their operator is of paramount importance to shape the contours of our foreign policy and strategic narrative.
