QUETTA: The tenth death anniversary of former governor and chief minister of Balochistan and veteran Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti was observed on Friday.
Nawab Akbar Bugti along with his 37 companions died in August 2006 in an operation in the mountainous areas of Kohlu and Dera Bugti in the cave of Taratani.
Akbar Bugti became governor of Balochistan province during the government of Zulfiqar Bhutto during 1973 –1974.
Later he became the chief minister of Baluchistan during Benazir Bhutto’s government in 1980-1990.
The case of Bugti’s killing is still underway in Balochistan High Court.
