Teenager commits suicide after being raped in Burewala

BUREWALA (INP): Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the rape incident in which an 18-year old student who committed suicide after being alleged gang rape at Chak No. 146/EB and inquired detailed report from the district administration here on Friday.

Reportedly, Akasha daughter of Muhammad Akram Jatt resident of Chak No. 146/EB gone out of her house where a youth Muhammad Rashid along with two other unknown accomplices allegedly abducted her and gang raped her in the fields, she returned to her house and told the incident to her parents and later in the night added poison in milk and drunk to end her life.

Akasha mother Kalsoom Bibi along with her relatives Muhammad Altaf and Muhammad Aslam told reporters that her daughter was unsatisfied with police action and alleged that police have released two accused after taking bribe from them and she got disappointed over it and consumed poison to end her life. She said that during rape they allegedly tortured her as well and there were visible signs of torture on her body but police didn’t notice it.

She demanded of the Chief Minister Punjab to register an FIR under murder charges. Meanwhile Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the rape incident and inquired detailed report from the district administration and DPO, Vehari Sadiq Ali Dogar, DSP Burewala Zulfiqar Ali, Assistant Commissioner Burewala Saifullah Sajid visited the village and expressed their sympathies with aggrieved family and ensured them complete justice in the case.
