Ros Taylor: Retired New Zealand cricketer Ross Taylor alleges that Rajhastan Royals team owner hit him after he was out for a duck in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
In his book, Taylor said that one of the Royals’ owners smacked him while laughing, but he wasn’t certain if the owner was joking or not.
“In Mohali, Rajasthan faced Kings XI Punjab. I drew lbw for just a duck and we didn’t come near during the 195-yard chase “Taylor’s autobiography contains quotes from him.
“Later, the squad, support personnel, and administration were in the hotel’s top-floor bar. Warnie was there with Liz Hurley.
“We can’t charge you a million dollars to get a duck,” one of the Royals owners allegedly told me before slapping me three or four times across the face, according to the New Zealand batsman.
He was smiling, and they weren’t really hard slaps either. I’m not sure whether it was all stage acting.I wasn’t going to raise it because of the circumstances, but I couldn’t see that occurring in many professional athletic settings,” the former cricketer said, expressing confusion.
The 450 international matches veteran from New Zealand retired in April of this year.
