Syed Imran Gardezi takes over as Director General, PBC

ISLAMABAD, Jan 2 (INP):   Syed Imran Gardezi  Friday took over the charge of Director General, Radio Pakistan. He replaces Ms Samina, an Information Service officer, who retired on 31st December, 2014.

Syed Imran Gardezi , senior most officer of Information Service of Pakistan is a thorough professional and highly respected in the media.  Previously he has served in Pakistani Missions  as Press Minister in Washington, New York and Press Secretary to the Prime Minister and Principal Information Officer (PIO). Before his posting as DG, PBC he was Director General External Publicity Wing of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

After taking over the charge, the new DG PBC visited various sections. He was briefed about the working of the different departments of organization by the senior officials.     The Director General emphasized the need for further improving the broadcasts of the PBC making it in sync with the current challenges and requirements.     Imran Gardezi underlined the need for fully exploiting the potential of the national broadcaster which reaches out to more than ninety percent population of the country.  Earlier on arrival in PBC, Directors, senior officials, and Central President CBA USO Union, and other office holders received the new director general.
