Australia defeated India by 6 wickets in the Sydney Test match to win the five-match Bard-Gavaskar Trophy.
After the humiliating defeat at the hands of the Kangaroos in the Sydney Test match, the Indian cricket team’s dream of playing in the World Test Championship final has also remained unfulfilled and Australia has qualified for the final of the event.
The World Test Championship final will be played between South Africa and Australia.

On the other hand, in the first innings of the Sydney Test match, India scored 185 runs while batting first, while the host Australia was all out for 181 runs, giving Team India a lead of 4 runs. However, they could not manage to give a big target to the Kangaroos in the second innings and were all out for just 157 runs.
In the match, India set Australia a target of 161 runs to win in the second innings, but in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian bowling line looked helpless and the host achieved the target for the loss of 4 wickets.

Beav Wester, who made his second innings debut, scored an unbeaten 38 runs while Travis Head remained not out on 34 runs.

Australia’s Scott Boland was named the best player for taking a total of 10 wickets in the match, while India’s Jasprit Bumrah was awarded the best player award for taking 32 wickets and scoring 42 runs in the series.
