CHARSADDA (NNI): Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested the main suspect who attempted to allegedly rape a teenage girl in Charsadda district of Khyber Paktunkhwa, but had fled after an earthquake jolted the area.
Azam and his friend Asif had entered the house of their neighbour in Mian Qilla area, and attempted to rape her. The suspects also filmed the incident, but escaped after a earthquake struck the area.
SP Charsadda said that suspect Azam s/o Bashir has been arrested. A pistol and a mobile phone has also been recovered from his possession. He said that efforts are underway to arrest his accomplice.
The 16-year old girl in Charsadda district on Wednesday has managed to escape an alleged rape attempt.
The girl while narrating her ordeal claimed that two armed men barged into her house when her mother was away, and tried to rape her after tearing her clothes but escaped in fear after tremors jolted the area. The girl’s family reported the incident to area police and maintained that two armed men entered their house after climbing walls, held the teenager hostage on gun point and tried to rape her before tremors forced them to flee in fear.
The victim also claimed that the suspects filmed the entire incident using their cellphone camera. NNI
