ISLAMABAD: Responding to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s media conference, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid on Tuesday said that the Supreme Court verdict on NA-154 has saved PTI candidate Jehangir Tareen’s dignity.
The Supreme Court’s verdict to suspend Election Tribunal’s ruling in NA-154 constituency has brought both PTI and the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on verbal confrontation course.
The federal minister said that Jehangir Tareen had to resort to pomp and show in Lodhran by fearing the by-election, alleging that PTI introduce the ‘industry of lota-cracy’.
He further said that the apex court’s ruling has saved PTI’s principal candidate from ‘humiliating defeat’, adding that they have been ‘deprived’ from seeing Tareen get defeated.
Pervaiz Rashid further said that he fears Imran Khan will take ‘u-turn’ in NA-122 as well. He said ‘Musharraf’s loyalist’ Imran rallied street to street asking votes during former military dictator’s referendum.
