ISLAMABAD: Summer vacations for government and private academic institutions have been extended for seven more days in the wake of ongoing anti-government sit-ins in the federal capital, while all the educational institutions would reopen in Rawalpindi from Monday.
The vacations for school and colleges of Islamabad were due to end on August 11, 2014, but ‘Azadi March’ led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and ‘Inqilab March’ headed by Pakistan Awami Tehreek forced the government (FDE) to extend vacations till August 18.
As the sit-ins continued in the federal capital, the government now extended vacations till 25th of the current month.
On the other hand, all academic institutions in Rawalpindi would reopen on August 18.
