ISLAMABAD : Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz says 25th July is a historical day in the democratic history of Pakistan as on this day PTI workers and people of the country laid the foundation of a new thinking. Talking to media persons in Islamabad Saturday, the Information Minister said on this day in 2018 an outdated, privileged, nepotistic and corrupt system was defeated. An outdated, privileged and corrupt system based on nepotism and favouritism was defeated in the general election on that day, he said. The Minister said creators of the outdated system continued to pursue personal interests by hollowing out national institutions and the economy. He said the founders of the outdated system had only pursued their personal interests by ruining the national institutions and economy. When the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) came to power, the country was mired in the debt trap, and was facing serious economic difficulties and challenges. Shibli Faraz said “we moved towards reforms with new determination under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.” Mentioning the achievements of PTI government, he said our government not only fought with Corona pandemic successfully but also gave importance to the economy of the country. He said successful youth programs, uniform curricula, the Billion Tree Tsunami is the beginning of a journey of progress. The Minister said in our government, Kashmir issue was highlighted at the international level. He said work on CPEC projects was expedited and we started building dams and took steps for low-income people. A successful Kamyab Naujawan programme, uniform curricula, the Billion Tree Tsunami project, acceleration in work of China Pakistan Economic Corridor projects, start of dams construction and the housing project for low-income people were the beginning of a new journey of development in the country, he added. He said the struggle for the development and prosperity of the country will continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
