Stranded Pakistanis in Xinjiang to leave for country on Thursday

Islamabad: The first batch of Pakistanis stranded in Xinjiang province of China is expected to leave for the country on Thursday. According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, 45 Pakistanis, who were stranded in Tashkuergan in Xinjiang province due to inclement weather, are in good health.

The visa issues faced by some of them are being taken care of by Pakistan Embassy officials with the assistance of Chinese authorities. The Pakistanis in Tashkuergan would be traveling to Kashghar where they will be facilitated by Embassy Officials. Subsequently, they will be repatriated by air from Urumqi to Islamabad as and when flights are available.
