Rawalpindi: Speakers at a seminar held here to mark the “International Panic Day” on the other day stressed the need of spreading awareness about panic and stresses related diseases and how to prevent mental stress which causes numerous mental and social disorders.
The Seminar was arranged by the Knight Human Management (KHM) Shalaan Pakistan GL here in School of Arts and Design which was attended by a large number of experts and students including the Chief Executive Officer of KHM Khalid Nawaz, renowned research scholars Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Matiullah, Homoeo Researchers Dr. Niaz Akmal, Dr. Naveed Ahsan, Waqar Al Hassan Naqvi, members of the chambers and overseas Pakistanis.
CEO of KHM Khalid Nawaz said that the vast majority of the population in Pakistan is suffering from economic problems due to unemployment which produces panic and stress among the people. “This fear and stress lead to adopting such behaviors that are unpopular in dealing with other people in the society”, he added. He said raising and spreading awareness about the issues of mental illnesses and their remedies are needed in our society urgently towards which the leading role rests with medical professionals and other informed ones.
Khalid Nawaz added that the present government was working honestly for the provision of maximum employment opportunities to defeat out the basic cause of poverty, panic and stress from the society. “In this regard, he mentioned, KHM is also playing a positive role by searching maximum overseas employment opportunities for our youth to get them rid of the menace of joblessness, fear and stress. “There is nothing to be shying of and only by talking about our problems can we get rid of them”, he added, saying more we should talk to our Creator, the Almighty Allah, put full trust on Him while giving Him our problems. He believed that in this way we can overcome all of our problems including panic and stress.
Dr. Hafiz Matiullah and other speakers said that people are undergoing a lot of mental stress and panic owing to different causes, the unemployment and poverty are the main causes among them. They said by providing employment opportunities to our youth, we can lessen the diseases related to economic problems. Dr. Niaz Akmal said that panic is a serious topic which is a mental health issue that affects a large number of our population. Women are more likely to suffer from panic than men and this is treatable for which no one should be shy of. He said that medical professionals should shoulder their responsibilities with regard to spreading the awareness about this ailment and encourage people to manage it in consultation with experts.
