ISLAMABAD (DNA) : The ambassador of Spain to Pakistan Javier Carbajosa has said relations with Pakistan will further improve as momentum for the same has already put in motion.
He expressed these views while speaking on the occasion of national day reception of Spain. Federal Minister for SAFRON Lt. Gen ® Abdul Qadir Baloch was the chief guest.
The Spanish ambassador while recognizing Pakistan role in war against terror, said the international community was bound to help Pakistan as it had suffered a lot in this war.
The ambassador said, the bilateral cooperation stems from the fact that we share similar perception on major global and regional issues such as the development goals for Millennium, the necessary reform of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly, climate change and dialogue among civilizations.
He said, a piece of Pakistan was also in Spain since more than 100,000 Pakistanis live in Spain, participating in their economic and cultural development.
The ambassador added, Spain was particularly active in many economic fields and that leading Spanish companies worldwide offer a wide range of possibilities for Pakistani investors.
“It is also important to know despite the serious economic crises faced by many Eruo zone countries, Spain is still considered the fourth economy of the Euro zone. It is the tenth investor worldwide and the second investor in Latin America”, he added.
The ambassador said, people of Pakistan are one of the most valuable assets of this country adding Spain and Pakistan are culturally rich and diverse countries with a heritage which we have to protect and project to the world.
The chief guest in his remarks congratulated Spain on national day and hoped relations between Pakistan and Spain would touch new heights. He also talked about the present political scenario of Pakistan saying the government would complete it term of five years.
