Country-wide rallies organized on ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir against the occupation of India and brutalities in Kashmir. With the passage of time this day has become an international event.

Participants of rallies carried placards and banners inscribed slogans of right of self-determination for Kashmiris, appreciation for their struggle of independence, solidarity with them, condemnation of state terrorism by Indian forces in Kashmir and demanding implementation of resolutions of international community for settlement of Kashmir issue. Kashmir dispute was not properly solved at the time of partition of Indian subcontinent and India illegally detained Jammu & Kashmir through military aggression. Afterwards it denied implementing United Nation’s resolutions. Indian armed forces have martyred thousands of innocent and unarmed Kashmiris struggling for their independence and rights. Indian military aggression has killed thousands of innocent and unarmed Kashmiris; children have been made orphans and women widows and half widows. Third generation of Kashmiri people is in struggle and raising their voice for independence. Draconian laws have been enforced in Occupied Kashmir by India to suppress the demand for self-determination by the people.

Pakistan will continue every sort of political, moral and diplomatic support for Kashmiris in this regards. The election held in Kashmir under the shelter of Indian military forces was mere show-off democracy. Furthermore settlement of Hindus in Kashmir is artificial dressing of democratic front to counter the self determination struggle. By not giving the right of self-determination to Kashmiris, India has exposed its claim of so called world’s biggest democracy. Kashmir is not a religious, geographical or linguistic dispute but an issue of basic human rights. The peace of entire region depends on the resolution of Kashmir dispute. If the issues of East Timor and South Sudan can be resolved by the international community then why not the same could be done regarding the issue of Kashmir?

Kashmir issue should be resolved in the light of UNSC resolutions in line with the will of people of Kashmir on humanitarian basis.
