Social media does play an integral part of our lives. Social networking facilitates open communication, leading to enhanced information discovery and delivery. Social media has created a new way to communicate with people from all around the world communications has been simplified. Social media have altered the way we engage and communicate ideas. The phenomenon social media is like a coin with two sides it has both negative and positive consequences. Social networking platforms may allow organizations to improve communication and productivity by disseminating information among different groups of employees in a more efficient manner. Social media have transformed the way in which we live, work and play. Companies are turning toward social media for collaboration. Social media also allows employees to discuss ideas, post news, ask questions and share links it provides an opportunity to widen business contacts. It can actually help businesses grow in multiple ways and promote their products easily.
Social networking allows you to connect with people from all over the world. Anyone anywhere who have internet connection can transmit or receive information faster and simpler than ever before. With Face book or with other social networks you can talk to multiple people at one time without even leaving your house. It brings people together and it is the faster and cheaper ways to communicate. Social media has been very useful to almost everyone across the globe especially the youth. The balance of good and evil in the world needs to be maintained. We have all heard the positive aspects of such websites but there are also disadvantages of social networking sites or rather say risks associated with it. Social media sometimes distract people. The information you post on the Internet is available to almost anyone who is clever enough to access it, Incidents of profiles and accounts being hacked into are common place. Another disadvantage of social media is that it can be a waste of time. There is an extensive range of mental and health problems known to be associated with spending too much time on social media. Social media interrupt real communication in real world. People no longer socialize in the real world. One important disadvantage of social networking is that it can be used to promote organized crime. And nowadays Social networking can become a venue for bullying. Social networking magnifies the gap between people who have access to computer technology and those who don’t have. Some of the disadvantages of media are, they give importance to some gossips. They spread it without thinking about the person and checking the news is real or not. The excess of everything is bad so use it wisely. Without media people would become so localized within themselves that eventually it would lead to further narrow-mindedness among the people. Spend your social media time more wisely.
