SK Niazi pays tribute to sacrifices of police in war against terror

Police officers have offered great sacrifices in the fight against terror and saved lives of thousands of their countrymen, this was stated by Chief Editor Pakistan Group Newspaper and Chairman Roze News Sardar Khan Niazi, he was addressing under training police officers at Police College Sihala. Earlier upon his arrival at the Police College Sihala he was welcomed by Commandant Police College Sihala DIG Sohail Tajik. The Chief Editor Pakistan Group of Newspapers said that even though the police have a huge duty of maintaining law and order in the country it is unfortunate that they have very limited resources. He said that to improve the reputation of the police and increase the trust of the public on the department police should do its own accountability; he further said that media can also play a role in increasing the public’s trust on the department.

SK Niazi said that the professionalism and ability of Pakistan Army is renowned world over, the police officers have the same ability but unfortunately due to lack of resources there service are not highlighted to the same extent. He said that during his meeting with Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif he requested the Chief Minister that all appointments in the department should be based on merit and the police should have complete authority and they should be provided better facilities and their salaries should also be increased.

The Chairman Roze News cited the example of Pakistan Army; he said that the families of Pakistan Army are provided with top notch education and health facilities, if similar facilities are provided to the police there performance will improve many folds. He further pointed that the performance of Motorway Police officers after transfer from police are much improved because Motorway Police has much better facilities and salaries. He said that at times politicians and even journalists try to pressurize the police officers but they should reject pressure no matter who it is from. He said that to remove the misconceptions regarding police a public relations department should be established on the pattern of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) to work with the media.

He also pointed out to the under training officers the role of Pakistan Groups of Newspaper and especially that of the groups English language newspaper Daily The Patriot. He told the audience that the Supreme Court has taken suo moto notices on the reports of Daily The Patriot on many occasions.

DIG Tajik, SSP Mohsin laud services of SK Niazi

Commandant Police College Sihala DIG Sohail Habib Tajik while addressing the under training  officers appreciated the role of Sardar Khan Niazi and said that his constructive criticism and support will help the department in tackling crime in a better way. The Commandant said that other media houses should also follow the example of Sardar Khan Niazi and his media group. He thanked Sardar Khan Niazi for visiting the Police College Sihala to listen to the problems and share his own experiences.

Deputy Commandant Police College Sihala SSP Syed Ali Mohsin Naqvi while addressing the officers said that Roze News is the only channel in the country that is presenting a positive view of police to the public. He said that years ago a play Andhera Ujala was aired and now Roze News program Kahani Jurm Ki is doing the same service by presenting a positive image of the police.

Earlier while introducing Sardar Khan Niazi to the under training officers SSP Ali Mohsin told the audience that Sardar Khan Niazi has been in the journalism profession for thirty years and his immense love for the country, Islam and the protectors of the country has been exemplary. He also pointed out the role of Sardar Khan Niazi in highlighting the genuine issues of the public thorough his columns and reports and appreciated his positive contribution to the filed of journalism in Pakistan.
