Situation across the country is under control: Fawad Ch.

Says nation will soon get good news

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Friday rubbished reports circulating on social media of any operation by the government against the demonstrators, and said that negotiations were ongoing between the government and the protesters. “The situation across the country is under control. Negotiations are ongoing with the protesters. The government is a guarantor of the people’s lives and freedom. Reports of any operation against the demonstrators are false,” he tweeted in Urdu.

“The government does not wish to resort to use of [force]. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Noor-ul-Haq Qadri will continue to hold talks with the leadership of the demonstrators,” the minister shared.

His comments came as protests by religious parties continued countrywide for a third day against the acquittal of Asia Bibi, a Christian woman on death row for blasphemy allegations.

In a Twitter post late night, Fawad Chaudhry had stressed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government did not wish to resort to use of force against the protesters but would not allow the writ of the state to be challenged. “The law and order situation in the country is under control. The state’s patience must not be mistaken for weakness,” he had said. “Upholding the Constitution and the rule of law completely are in the best public interest and we [the government] will fulfill this duty.”The Prime Minister is being briefed about the situation by the minute. Any attempt to sabotage the important visit to China will fail,” the minister had warned. Meanwhile In reference to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to China, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has said the nation will soon receive a very good news. Briefing media about the prime minister’s meeting with Chinese President  Xi Jinping in Beijing, the minister said the meeting remained very successful. He said Islamabad expected a big economic package from Beijing, adding that the premier’s China visit will help reduce financial problems facing the country.
Fawad said the prime minister’s visit is of historic significance as he has been making efforts to pull the country out of the current economic situation.
China is expected to provide Pakistan $6billion financial support while agreement in this regard could be reached during Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ongoing visit to China.
According to a private television report, out of the total $6 billion, $3 billion would be given to Pakistan for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), while $1.5 billion each would be doled out in grant, and loan.
PM Imran Khan was given warm welcome upon his arrival in Beijing earlier in the day. Mr Khan also met the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, and discussed the matters of mutual interest.
Khan said the vision and leadership of Mr. Jinping was the role model for China. He stated that Pakistan was extremely impressed with the progress and development in China. Monitoring Desk
