Lahore: Barabari Party Chairman Jawad Ahmed dismissed the allegations of electricity theft leveled against him during a press conference at the Lahore Press Club as baseless.
According to the report, Jawad Ahmed said that he was at home when his wife called from the salon and said that some people were checking the meter in the name of a survey. Later, it was found that the green meter, which is the personal property of the citizen, had been removed.
According to Jawad Ahmed, the meter was locked in a fence in view of thefts in his area. He added that without checking the meter, it was taken away on the charge of electricity theft, which made him angry. Jawad Ahmed said that he himself went to the police and spoke to the LESCO officials.
He termed the allegations as propaganda and said that an attempt was being made to tarnish his reputation. He clarified that electricity theft from green meters is not possible. Jawad Ahmed claimed that the matter was being used for political purposes.
