Karachi: The Sindh High Court has ordered to stop the recruitment of Grade 16 through the Public Service Commission.

The High Court has issued notices to the Chief Secretary, Secretary College Education and others, restraining the College and Education Department from recruiting 50% of Grade 16 posts through the Sindh Public Service Commission.

In the High Court, a hearing was held on the application against the recruitment in grade 16 related to the rules in the college education department. Counsel for the petitioner submitted that as per the rules of college education, 50% promotion while 50% recruitment will be through commission.

The petitioner’s lawyer said that 251 recruitments have been advertised in the college education department under the Sindh Public Service Commission. The court had directed to keep 50% of the 125 posts of college education department vacant, but ignoring the rules, all the recruitments are being done by SPSC.

The lawyer argued in the court and said that according to the rules only 50% recruitment can be done in grade 16 through the Sindh Public Service Commission.

Later, the court restrained the College and Education Department from recruiting 50% of Grade 16 posts through the Sindh Public Service Commission. The court issued notices to the Chief Secretary, Secretary College Education and others.

The application was filed by an employee of the College Education Department.
