The Sindh government and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has announced a Rs50 million and Rs2 million incentives ,respectively, for the Pakistani javelin thrower who won the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Arshad Nadeem.The Mayor of Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, spoke to the media and praised Nadeem’s performance, congratulating Arshad Nadeem as well as the entire nation on winning Pakistan’s gold medal.Wahab said that Nadeem had the top position in the throwing event, and he also had the second-best throw. He congratulated Arshad Nadeem on his outstanding performance.He also said that a sports academy will be established in Karachi named after Arshad Nadeem. Murtaza Wahab expressed that the Sindh government is proud of this magnificent achievement, as Arshad Nadeem has raised the name of the country and the nation by winning the medal.Tessori also congratulated Nadeem for his history-making victory in the men’s javelin throw event at the Paris Olympics.He said that Arshad Nadeem’s gold medal win has fulfilled the dream of the entire nation.He said that the national athlete Arshad Nadeem set a new record by throwing the javelin 92.97 meters, breaking a 118-year-old Olympic record. Tessori said that the spectators were able to witness a magnificent display of the javelin throw event.Tessori further announced that Arshad Nadeem will be gifted an iPad and an iPhone, and a reception will be hosted for him at the Governor’s House.
