KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Qaim Ali Shah presented his resignation to Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan after arriving at the Governor s House on Wednesday afternoon.
Pakistan People s Party (PPP) leader Murad Ali Shah, who has been nominated as the new Chief Minister of the province by the party, was also present in the Governor s House when Qaim Ali Shah arrived there.
Qaim Ali Shah wrote in the summary of the resignation that he made the decision to leave his office based on directions given by the party.
While addressing with the media after the meeting between the two concluded, Sindh Governor stated that he approved Sindh CM s resignation. He said that the provincial government shall continue seeking advantage from Qaim Ali Shah s experience, adding that the decision to resign was a political one.
Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan said that Qaim Ali Shah played his part for the betterment of the province. He said that Qaim Ali Shah was a person who had immense patience in his personality, further stating that Murad Ali Shah shall now be leading the matters of the province after Qaim Ali Shah. Sindh Governor said that Murad Ali Shah shall face challenges regarding the establishing of law and order in the province.
Qaim Ali Shah thanked Sindh Governor for his kind words, adding that he always maintained a sound understanding with Sindh Governor. He said that he shall make efforts to write a book regarding his experiences.
Shah forwarded his resignation during a meeting of Pakistan People’s Party held yesterday (Tuesday). Murad Ali Shah was nominated as Sindh CM by PPP after Shah resigned from his post. Over 50 leaders took part in the party meeting.
While addressing to the participants of the meeting, PPP Chairman said that Qaim Ali Shah was an asset of the party, adding that the decision was made keeping in view the best interest of the province.
Bilawal said that the party shall keep gaining advantage in the future through Qaim Ali Shah’s experience.
Syed Murad Ali Shah will take oath of his office on Friday.
