KARACHI: Sindh government is facing great trouble in running the Cabinet owig to disputes of ministers with each other amid actions against law enforcing agencies, the paramilitary Rangers, federal investigation agency and national accountability bureau against corrupt officials and bureaucrats.
Sindh government has once again done the reshuffling in Cabinet without introducing any new name in the Cabinet except Tariq Masood Arain. Sindh government is for reasons best known to the Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and the party leadership as why each minister is handed multiple portfolios while it could be better for the Sindh government to improve governance by dividing the work load by appointing more ministers under the law.
In the recent exercise of reshuffling, Sindh senior Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has once again been made minister for education and the portfolio of irrigation is taken away from him and given to Sindh Finance minister Syed Murad Ali Shah as additional portfolio.
Sharjeel Innam memon has once again been given the portfolios of Archives while he already possesses the portfolio of works and services.
Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, who refused to take oath as minister for education owing to rift with Secretary education Fazlullah Peechoho, who is a close relative of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, has been kept as minister without any portfolio.
A new comer is Tariq Masood Arain, who has been inducted in the Cabinet as minister for Katchi Abadis after former minister Jawaid Nagori tendered his resignation. Nagori had in past month raised serious objections on PPP Karachi Division President on ethnic grounds. A releae of controversial video that had emerged in past 2 weks also became a reason for his removal as minister.
As far as Bijarani is concerned, he had refused to work as minister for education with Peechoho as he was of the opinion thqt he could not deliver without powers, meaning Peechoho had all the powers to decide about the matters of the education ministry. NNI
